Description
8 Blade Heat Powered Stove Fan
Improve the circulation of warm air from your stove with this compact 8-blade heat-powered stove fan.
Designed to sit on top of a suitable wood-burning, multifuel or solid-fuel stove, the fan uses heat from the stove to generate its own power. No batteries, plugs or external electricity supply are required.
As the stove heats up, the fan begins to operate automatically, helping to move warm air away from the stove and further into the room. This can help reduce hot and cold spots and make better use of the heat already being produced.
Key features
- Eight-blade design
- Heat-powered operation
- No batteries or mains electricity required
- Starts automatically as the stove heats
- Fan speed increases as the stove temperature rises
- Helps circulate warm air around the room
- Quiet running
- Compact freestanding design
- Integrated carrying handle
- Black finish to suit most stoves and interiors
How it works
The base of the fan absorbs heat from the stove top. A thermoelectric module converts the temperature difference into electrical power, which drives the fan motor.
As the stove becomes hotter, the blades normally rotate faster and circulate more warm air. As the stove cools, the fan slows down and stops automatically.
Why use a stove fan?
Without a fan, much of the hot air produced by a stove rises directly upwards and can collect near the ceiling.
A stove fan helps push warm air forward into the living space, which may help:
- distribute warmth more evenly
- reduce cold areas in the room
- improve comfort near and away from the stove
- make more effective use of the stove’s heat
- circulate warmth without increasing electricity use
Suitable for
This fan is intended for use on suitable flat-topped:
- wood-burning stoves
- multifuel stoves
- solid-fuel stoves
- log burners
It may not be suitable for inset fires, open fireplaces, electric fires or stoves with insufficient top-surface heat.
Positioning the fan
Place the fan on a flat, stable section of the stove top, usually towards the rear or side of the stove.
Do not position it directly in front of the flue pipe or in the hottest part of the stove unless the manufacturer’s instructions specifically allow this.
There must be sufficient clearance around the blades for them to rotate safely.
Important safety information
The fan and its handle may become extremely hot during use.
- Do not touch the fan while the stove is operating.
- Allow it to cool completely before moving it.
- Use the carrying handle only when the fan has cooled sufficiently.
- Keep children and pets away from the fan and exposed blades.
- Do not obstruct the blades while they are turning.
- Do not place the fan on an unstable or uneven surface.
- Always follow the stove manufacturer’s instructions.
- Do not exceed the fan manufacturer’s stated maximum operating temperature.
- A stove thermometer is recommended to help monitor the stove-top temperature.
